The production areas – both ours and our audited partners – are an important part of O Melro operation, which dedicates most of its activity to the production of Rocha pear, stone fruit and Gala apple. Our orchards sum up to 600 ha and are located in the West Coast, Alentejo, Santarém, and Setúbal regions.
O Melro is one of the largest companies in the sector in Portugal, which also exports to several countries in Europe such as United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Ireland, among others.
O Melro’s reaches as far as Brazil and Canada, the Middle East as well as the African and Asian continents.
Our pack house is equipped with top notch machinery, instruments and software. Our cold storage is made up by 22 cold rooms that can hold up to 10 000 tons of fruit in normal, controlled and dynamically controlled atmosphere.
