From field to you

The picking season

In August, the Pera Rocha do Oeste is hand-picked in its region of origin. The entire harvest is carried out by experienced harvesting teams, who ensure the careful handling of each pear.

Storage

Once harvested, the pears are immediately placed in bins and transported to the packing facility. Upon arrival, the priority is to begin the cold chain, storing the fruit in cold rooms at a strict 0°C to 1°C.

The journey

The entire process, from harvesting and transportation to the beginning of storage, takes approximately two hours. Under controlled conditions, the pears can last for up to eight months.

The Pera Rocha do Oeste is a resilient fruit with an excellent shelf-life. It maintains its freshness and quality for longer, which helps to reduce food waste.
